Approximately 7% Americans today own at least one, if not more, recreational vehicle, more commonly known as an RV. RV’s do not fit in a standard garage, but still need some form of protection. That is where the car port comes in to the rescue. Car ports are metal garages made to protect different forms of transportation like extra cars, RVs and boats.
The term carport originated by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who once had told a client, a car is not a horse, it does not need a barn. It does however, need a form of protection. The weather can take a terrible toll on these vehicles. Car ports, or garage buildings help to decrease the chances of damage to hail, ice and other weather related risks.
